I admired this cartouche for a long time before finally ordering it and I am glad I did get it. The lapis is a gorgeous blue with a slight gold matrix and of course the gold is shiny and gold (what else?) The hieroglyphs are well done. The pendant is slightly smaller than I expected but not enough to be considered a negative. It shows up nicely and the weight is just right. It is not too light nor is it too heavy to be comfortable. You can wear it all day and I am sure it will invite compliments and inquiries.

I think this necklace is beautiful. The quality of the materials and the design really shows, and the lapus lazuli adds a lot. Not only is it a traditional Ancient Egyptian form of jewelry, but its the perfect hue of blue to be set next to 18k gold. You really should get the gold chain as well, although I'm no expert on jewelry so I can't say if $100 for an 18k 16" necklace is a good buy. I can only say that I was happy with how it all fit together, and it has a beautiful gold sparkle.
If I had to criticize this product, I would simply say that the packaging needs to be improved. The necklace and the gold chain I ordered came together in a small clear plastic bag packaged inside a lightweight white box. If I ordered it from Tiffany's, packaging would be much better. Don't get me wrong, the actual product is better than anything I could find of its kind. I just felt that when I hand this over to my girlfriend it should be a nice, slightly heavier, box, perhaps something to bring out the colors of the necklace. I really encourage the seller to consider adding nicer materials.
Once you spend $175 for the necklace, and then another $100 for the chain, 5-10 for a nice box isn't a big deal. And that's really my only beef. But don't let that discourage you, because I think if you give yourself enough time you can easily find a better box. And honestly, my girlfriend barely noticed the box when she opened it and instead stared approvingly at the beautiful gold necklace!
All in all, highly recommended.
