Adorned with hieroglyphics on each side, this sterling silver scarab beetle makes a unique necklace! The young scarab beetles emerged spontaneously from the burrow they were born in. Therefore they were worshipped as "Khepera", which means "the one who came forth". Khepera was believed to push the setting sun along the sky. In many artifacts, the scarab is depicted pushing the sun along its course in the sky. This scarab pendant is double sided, with hieroglyphic drawings on each side. Scarab pendant measures 3/4" long including the bale and 1/2" wide and is suspended from a 16" rhodium plated sterling silver box chain.
